Yeah, so I get it that Hoodly isn't a Grant Williams fan, but credible sources put his value at around 14-15 million per year.
Decision To Not Extend Grant Williams Could Be Risky For Celtics
With the Boston Celtics failing to extend the contract of Grant Williams, they have opened themselves to risk in the summer of 2023.www.forbes.com
I think the Celts aren't likely to deal with the Cavs, but he's being low-balled hard in this thread compared to his published market.
I think G. Williams is a nice 2nd unit forward, who in that type of role has value. I can see though why some projections might consider his age + being out from behind of Brown/Tatum as being a breakout candidate. I just disagree. IMO things like his 4 year sample size + lack of height + lack of athletic ability limit him to being an undersized 4 with a ceiling that for the most part has already been reached. Guess we'll see in 3-4 years if he is still putting up 8/5-ish type of numbers or something more impactful.
But otherwise my comments are primarily about the player only, and not on what Boston should or should not doing retaining their own or what he might fetch on the open market.
