The 2020 Cleveland Indians

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Cards fans, especially in the comments section, but not limited.. are overvaluing their own (deJong?) while demeaning Lindor.. Just crazy stupid things like: "...deJong is worth more in trade than Lindor..." A deal for Lindor at the deadline is unlikely/not happening..

Silly to think DeJong is better than Lindor but I would for sure do a Lindor deal with DeJong as the headliner though. His contract extension plus his production level is JRam-esque.

Throw in one of: Carlson, Bader, Gorman, Edman, O'Neill and maybe a lower level prospect or a pitcher and I'd think you'd have a deal.

I just think replacing Lindor with five years of DeJong keeps the Indians contention window wide open through Jose's and Bieber's contracts.

I mean, the Indians are gonna need to have somebody play SS after they trade Frankie, right? There's no internal options at the moment. DeJong's max payout over the next five years is $50M with only $21M guaranteed. He's probably worth close to $100M on the open market.

Shoot, Didi Gregorius got $14M on a one year deal coming off a pretty bad season so I'm not sure a veteran stop gap like we did with Cesar Hernandez is gonna be within the Indians budget.

I wouldnt be against that since DeJong is a solid SS overall. So DeJong and prospects for Lindor would be a good trade on paper.

Let's get Tahnaj Thompson and Jhon Torres to carry DeJong's bags !!...

GSon - Even if the Tribe wanted Jhon Torres back from the StL Cards in a Lindor deal, how is Tahnaj THOMAS (dealt from CLE to Pitts in the Luplow deal) getting looped into the Lindor return????

I want Julian Merryweather, Gio Urshela and Clint Frazier, too..

Imagine a couple years ago, if I told you that in 2020, Bauer would be gone. Kluber would be gone. Clevinger would be gone. Tito would be gone. Then made you guess our record.

I know I would've guessed we were rebuilding and be one of the worst teams in the league.

I'd have guessed we would have about 25 wins going into September and would have been darned close.

How is that bad?
Probably gonna look for any existing team, one quietly up for sale that is hemorrhaging cash (meaning: needs to sell, even to a poor fit), has a stadium lease coming up and poor local support. Logical conclusion:
JT sings the Sunday Night Baseball theme song, bringing young people back to the game

Fans don't make trades, GMs do, so they can 'overvalue' Long Dong DeJong in the comments Section all they want, their would quickly turn if the Cards got Lindor.

One of the very unappreciated elements of Dolan ownership is that he does not want to see the team move. Anything can change I suppose, but I still believe that is part of what you get with him...He will not move /won't sell to somebody who will.

Noted a week ago, but it is nice to have a picture...well done, Brad!

lease at progressive runs through 2023

hopefully dolan has a choice about selling or not and if he has to sell, has something to say about where the team will play --- other candidates are the usual suspects - oakland, tampa bay, miami --- also, manfred has talked about expansion - so there's that avenue also - just gotta find two cities
