This is dumb, the Magic were a bad team. They haven't made the playoffs since Howard was there. And yet he couldn’t win 30 games with the Magic

Neither Ham nor Lue could make it work with Westbrook after the Lakers fired Vogel and the Clippers picked up Westbrook. He's not good anymore. So why couldn’t he elevate the Orlando Magic ?
Or why couldn’t he take Westbrook and make it work in LA ? He still had LeBron & AD…
Definitely not convinced Vogel is a good coach…
When JBB gets to the unemployment line next year we'll see how fast he gets picked up.
I think he's a good rebuilding coach. Getting young guys to buy in defensively and function as a team is easier said than done. He was already shortening Sexton's leash before the injury. But he clearly isn't the coach to get a good team past another good team in the playoffs.I actually think he will. There's a large narrative out there he's a good coach.
He got a lot of credit from taking us from bad to good. I know it's bullshit, because the team was going to grow regardless of him. Getting Mobley, and Sexton getting injured, were two things that played a pivotal part into us growing. Because the Sexton and Garland experiment, was going no where. The addition of Rubio helped, we needed that veteran leadership, and he was an extension of a coach on the floor, especially the first year.
He was such a big key to helping turning things around.
But outside people see it as JBB being a big reason, us going from lottery to playoff team. And he's a young coach.
If JBB were fired, I think he'd land another job quick. It takes awhile to go from hot to not. He doesn't have a long track record yet...
We've seen coaches like Nate McMillian become hot commodities, to no one wants to touch him.
JBB will need a few failed stints, for it to sink, he's not good.
What are the Cavs thinking in keeping JBB?I think he's a good rebuilding coach. Getting young guys to buy in defensively and function as a team is easier said than done. The reason is the front office is shitty. Koby Altman is terrible and putting his personal like for JBB above the greater good of the team. In other words he’s prepared to die on the JBB sword. And Dan Gilbert doesn’t care that much anymore. He got his ring and has family issues and health issues going on to be locked into the team like he once wasWhat are the Cavs thinking in keeping JBB?
When Mike Brown lost LBJ they gave him ONE year with a bad roster and then fired him.
Ty Lue won Cleveland its first title and one year after LBJ left and he was stuck with a bad roster they fired him.
Byron Scott had a shitty roster and didn’t they fire him after two seasons?
They never gave these guys a chance by building a nice roster for them to have a team to turn around. YET they give JBB a team with several nice pieces and what does he do? Fails to get them out of the play in one year and fails to get them out of the first round the next year! YET he’s getting a third year to run it back! Not understanding that reasoning!

Simply put: In the NBA, you can't lose the locker room.
Byron Scott had his option picked up the season before he was fired, but players felt he wasn't 100% committed to coaching.
Mike Brown was fired with millions still on his 20 million contract. We paid for him to coach against us in the NBA Finals.
JBB is still loved by the locker room. I think it's also important to note that they are still ascending year to year.
Wasn't the question with Byron Scott was if he was committed to coaching the Cavs? Like his heart wasn't in to coaching the Cavs and that he wanted to coach the Lakers which he end up doing.

That’s what y’all tell me…. I sure as hell don’t believe in that fraudulent greatness that many get sucked into…. But I provide the content for those that do…For a guy who constantly runs Lebron down you still seem to believe Lebron can work miracles. That Lakers team last year with Westbrook, AD playing just 40 games and never really being healthy, and a frequently injured Lebron was totally hopeless. They had nobody last year. Vogel was just the fall guy.
Not running his high three point line hand off offense he wouldn’t be! Those type of players would “demand” he change the offense!Or maybe JBB is taking a team from scratch and building it accordingly…Unlike what Vogel could do…. Or Kerr…. Or Ham…..The ones everyone praises around here didn’t do much without a roster…
Kerr was 15-50 the year when Curry played 5 games…Pop sucked for the last few years…
Did they just automatically become terrible at their profession? Oh but that Frank Vogel was compromised by Westbrook — but when he was in Orlando with no Westbrooks he was ??? “OH BUT DWIGHT HOWARD WASN'T ON THAT TEAM”
The people calling for JBB’s head are the same who think these other coaches are spectacular….
Give JBB Giannis & Luka right now to pair with Donovan and he’s a genius….
