Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Anyone in the Brecksville/Broadview Heights/North Royalton area have any recommendations for preschool or daycare?

Son is early into his 20th month, and his curiosity about everything has absolutely exploded. It's VERY fun. He's suddenly pointing at everything now and wanting me to name it. This was preceded by a few weeks of bringing me toys constantly and wanting me to name them. He can recognize a ton of pictures now and has high accuracy in pointing to the correct ones when we ask him during story time. He even tried to "feed" an elephant design on a church quilt when I took him to the church nursery on Sunday, lol (he had a handful of pretend food and was looking around to feed something with it).

Independence is another thing that's booming. He has strong preferences for wheeled toys (with animals a distant second), and he constantly brings me his wheeled toys and his transportation cloth book for me to read to him. He has a total of eight cloth books that I used to read to him in a certain order, but now he just brings me the transportation cloth book first because he wants to make sure I do THAT one first, lol.

Also, he walks down stairs with no problem at all. It's funny how it took him awhile to climb, but he was able to learn how to get upstairs and downstairs VERY quickly, and well ahead of schedule. I keep reading about what 20 month olds are supposed to do, and all the web sites say that 20 month olds generally aren't able to get down stairs yet, but he does without any issue.

Now I'm just waiting for the language explosion. He can finally say a couple of basic two-word phrases, but is still only around 20 words spoken. Generally pediatricians expect 50 by age two. He's got a few months to go, so hopefully he'll get there.

Boy this takes me way back. Lived in Brecksville of 82 just east of Broadview Heights and had both my kids at The Children’s House but that closed in 2015 and we moved to Cincinnati in 1995. Great place. At that time a baby & a four year old were $700 a month total.

Good luck in your search. Finding good child care is very stressful as it’s always an ongoing issue.

Fuckin boomers man…

All this talk of Boomers...and Ohio...makes me think of and takes me back to this dude:

Toddler, incidentally, has a toy football, but he doesn't play with it much.

Not every kid instinctively goes for the football.

You have to throw it to them and tackle the shit out of them as soon as they have it. Then when they throw it to you, teach them to tackle you.

If they like it, they like it. If they don’t, take them into the wild on a winter night and see if they can fend for themselves against the packs of bloodthirsty wolves that roam outside your village.

Bunch of entitled pussies, this generation of kids. Sick of coddling them.

(Speaking of boomers)

My kid just turned 1 last week and he's cute as hell, but pretty much an absolute prick.
