MLB - Trade Rumors and Speculation

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
b00bie -

I like your scenario a lot, really like Vargas and Headley but do not know much about Guzman so will take your word for it. I assume in your scenario that Tomlin gets sent to CBUS? What do you think of Hernandez taking Lowes spot in your proposed rotation? Masty - U - Vargas - ZMac - Hernandez....looks pretty damn good.

Also, that bullpen really takes shape with Raffy coming back.

They aren't going to cut Lowe, he's too smart, he does too much for the rest of the staff in terms of a veteran presence and quite frankly I'm not sure I can't make the case that he hasn't been better than Tomlin anyway.

They aren't going to release a guy unless they have to, and with Tomlin having options left and serving up BP, it'll probably be him first.

If Lowe continues to implode, that step will be taken late in the year IMO....But not now.

According to @jaysonst the #Indians are one of four teams most aggressively pursuing #Padres 3B Chase Headley.

The Padres have a plethora of young talent at skill positions.

Maybin locked up, Quentin locked up, Rymer Liriano is a top 20 OF prospect, Jedd Gyorko a good 3B prospect, Grandal at C/Alonso at 1B and already up, Forsythe and Amarista in the middle potentially.

They are in search of upper level pitching, and that is something the Indians can possibly make a deal with. Gomez, Kluber, McAllister, McFarland, House, Soto, Packer...A few of those guys is a pretty good starting point IMO and makes the Indians a fit.

Indians Notes: Cabrera, Choo, Lindor

While the Indians would like to upgrade their rotation, they aren't interested in rental players, ESPN.com's Jerry Crasnick reports (on Twitter). Here’s the latest on the Indians, who have a 50-49 record after defeating the Tigers last night...

- Asdrubal Cabrera would appeal to a team like Oakland, but the Indians would have to be blown away to move their shortstop, Crasnick reports (on Twitter).*
The Indians are very likely to hold onto Shin-Soo Choo now that they’re just 3.5 games out of a playoff berth, Jon Heyman of CBSSports.com writes (Twitter link).
- Rangers GM Jon Daniels should trade for an impact hitter and a starting pitcher, Jon Paul Morosi of FOX Sports writes. The Rangers had a scout watching yesterday’s Tigers-Indians game, so Morosi suggests Choo could be an option for Texas. The Rangers also scouted Justin Upton, but it sounds as though Arizona won’t move the outfielder before the offseason.
- Though no players are off limits, a trade "would need to be exceptional" for the Indians to part with top prospect Francisco Lindor, MLB.com's Jordan Bastian reports (on Twitter).

The strength of the Indians roster is relief pitching. The strength of the farm system is relief pitching. There are good teams out there who need relief pitching while chasing the playoffs. I know it's not that simple to find a bat, but generally you have to know your strengths to fix your weaknesses.

It was, but Austin Adams and CC Lee going out for the year could have changed that...

Someone let me know if it's possible.

But I was thinking, since big market teams can pay a guy to be removed from the players no-trade list. Could we do a three-team trade with Texas and Arizona by sending Choo to Texas for a young starting pitcher and then have them send another prospect to Arizona. And then the Indians send a few prospects to Arizona while getting Upton and having Texas pay him to remove the Tibe from his no-trade list.

Possible? Just thinking about it.

I think the Indians are in enough trouble with the MLBPA, not if it is in fact legal though.

Can we get somebody that can play left field, first base or 3rd....we can win the division with 2 bad spots in the line up but not 3

How woul that be a problem with the MLBPA?

I know the whole Hagadone thing but how does that involve them?

Jerry Crasnick‏ @jcrasnick

Lots of debate in front offices over the availability of Josh Johnson. I think #Marlins would move him, but price is extremely high.

We're talking Jurickson Profar-Travis D'Arnaud types just to get talks moving, then a lot more beyond that. #marlins
