MLB - Trade Rumors and Speculation

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Greinke to the Angels for SS Jean Segura (22-AA), RHP Johnny Hellwig (23-AA) and RHP Ariel Pena (23-AA).

Some believe Segura can stick at short, some can't.

Hellweg struggles throwing strikes and probably winds up in the bullpen. Pena is a Futures Game kid who got lit up in the game, but has good stuff and probably projects as a 2-3 at the very best and that's probably a stretch.

He's a rental, but quite frankly I thought he would command more.

Brewers must really like Segura.

#Indians will listen on Shin Soo Choo and Chris Perez, among others, but signs point to them staying put at deadline.

Tony Lastoria said the following this morning:

- The Indians are seriously looking at both Soriano and Headley
- The Indians won't deal for a rental unless they are cheap in terms of prospects
- The Indians are also looking at various SP options

I wouldn't overpay for Chase....
Lonnie projects to have similar numbers.

Soriano is interesting at the right price, low end prospect, cubs pay a hefty portion of contract. Then again you have a LFer that is hitting lefties and righties in C-Bus that is free.

Call up Fedroff.

Kluber and Corberta for Lowe and Tomlin needs to happen as well.

Who the hell is Corberta?!

Zuppe just tweeted the Indians are still in the hunt for James shields

Angels paid a steep price for a rental. Makes more sense if they can get Grienke resigned.

I like going after Headley- at this point, with his versatility i would not use Chisenhall as an excuse to not make a move for him. Shield's price might be too high. Still holding out hope for a Kipnis/Pestano for Soriano deal.:chuckles:

The rays were rumored to be asking for bourjos cogner and erivn santana for sheilds. I'd say thats a little steep :p

Headley can play LF if and when Chisenhall returns and hits up to par for a Major League player.

I thought the Angels package for Greinke was a bit light, and Greinke is an "elite" level player even if only a rental.

Bourjos, Conger and Santana is a pretty light package for Shields as well. Bourjos is a defensive OF who doesn't hit that much, Santana has been absolutely abysmal for the last year and a half or so.

Conger is OK, but probably doesn't stay behind the plate if he keeps growing.

So realistically what kind of package would the indians have to send to flordia for sheilds?

Sounds like they want big league ready talent in return.

Tim Fedroff, one of the Triple-A pitchers, Gio Soto, Chun Chen...something like that maybe.

Got to think the Indians extra draft pick is in play as well.

That seems fair, given that we have some decent pitching depth i wouldn't mind giving some up. Fedroff has been hitting the cover off the ball recently but what kind of player does he really project to be?
