The official start Luke Jackson thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
His turnover to anything statistically productive ratio is second to none.

BLah rookie game by Luke tonight: just when he puts a good string together puts up a stinker this one.

That being said: D. Jones is putting together a Jeff McInnis type stinker of a season togehter and he's starting. First Bell and then House went all over Jones

Luke played good D while out there. Was it a coincidence that the Cavs were active and went on their run with him in the game? DJ is bringing absolutely nothing on either end of the floor. He doesn't move on offense or defense. It doesn't help that we had to watch Eddie House, making half (?) DJ's salary, wipe us out last night.

Once agian, Lebron played the entire second half, and once again I thought he wore down in the 4th. Brown is not helping himself by not resting lebron in the 4th. You cannot expect the guy to play 24 minutes in a row and be fresh at the end of the game. Nash rested several minutes in the 4th, came out fresh, nd that was it.

Its all about seizing the moment. Jackson failed last night. You cant expect Brown to give extended minutes despite Damon's struggles. Maybe Sasha gets an opportunity tonight despite LePips bogus opinions. Although Luke might get the "home town" sympathy vote tonight.

Ugh, I just hate our 2 guard rotation.

Hey pal, the fact you actually like Sasha is pretty telling.....Sasha is a quiet version of Damon Jones...

He misses shots, doesn't try on defense, and turns it over as much as Luke.. Hell, he turned it over twice within 45 seconds the other night in LA... Luckily for Sasha, Luke, was able to get to the loose ball on the first one...

I really like how you are so critical of Sasha's first game in 1 month. You would have been just itching for that performance. As long as after a few more games he can contribute a 0-7 shooting night to mix in with some turnovers he'll be on the right track I'm guessing. You see, your not the only person who can be a smart arse.

At the end of the day we want to see something at the two guard.

Good news Luke Jackson fans!!!

As we all know Luke has played big games against Milwaukee and Los Angelas which has left the Luke starved fans drooling and wanting more. Well tonight is another chapter in this story.

In those past two games, Luke was able to dominate giants of the basketball world Jiri Welsch and Sasha Vucacic. Tonight Viktor Khryapa is the lame duck.

Go Luke!

Your Smart ass levels are not on par...

It something that comes natural... You seem to be reaching...Let it come to you.

In the words of the greatest basketball player of all time....You reach, I teach. :chuckles:

:drink: Here's to the Cavs boarding the Charter, and leaving Sasha behind in the pacific northwest....

All these excuses of Lebron playing too much is garbage..

He should be conditioned to play those minutes. Its part of the game, that is not an excuse or a valid reason for him.

Luke didn't step up last night and he didn't have the greatest game. I thought he was ok in the 1st half despite the missed shots but he didn't play well in the 2nd half.
Brown should still stick with him though. Young players getting extended minutes for the 1st time wil have some ups and downs. They should become more consistent the more playing time they get. I don't see how it can hurt the Cavs to continue to play Jackson 12-15 minutes a night considering the production they're getting from other more experienced players in the backcourt. The Cavs have to go with at least one of these young guys over a long period and live with it.

Luke does need to hit some shots or his minutes will decrease again.

I wouldn't mind seeing Sasha get some time but he has to stop playing so tentative out there. He has talent, he needs to use it. Sasha seems invisible out there too much. Right now Luke plays more aggressive and even if he doesn't score he can contribute in other ways.

I'm guessing we need to see Sasha shoot the ball at a lower percentage, turn the ball over more often, decrease his footspeed and we have our new crowd favourite!

On a more serious note, I do believe Sasha needs to show more hustle to earn more minutes. This is the only area that impresses me each time Luke steps on the floor. Sasha at times shows an intimidated persona.

Jackson Over Sasha

I can't see why we would keep Sasha over Jackson. Jackson is just flat-out smarter. Sasha commits too many fouls and tries too many crazy things. Jackson can score and pass, he can keep a play alive and he doesn't do anything outrageous. He plays within himself and the flow of the game. Sasha forces things.

We need to pack him and Gooden for SOMETHING at point gaurd.

Re: Jackson Over Sasha

Sasha actually plays aggressive. Something we lack big time right now. Yes he needs to play smarter on defense as he over commits. But other then that he is superior to Luke. Luke might have the scout report as being a good passer and shooter, but he has not produced where it matters. He gets himself in awful positions that lead to turnovers. His shooting has been awful apart from one or two games. Fact of the matter is, Sasha has proven alot more thus far and is taking the game to his opponents. We dont want another player just sitting back waiting.

Re: Jackson Over Sasha

Sasha has had times in the past where he didn't play aggressive and was too tentative on the court. I haven't seen that since he's gotten minutes the last few games. He has been playing much more aggressively and it's good to see.

I'd continue to give Sasha minutes and I hope Brown does too. I just wanted to see either Luke or Sasha get a fair shot and get consistent minutes over a long period.
Sasha has showed glimpses of quality talent and the ability to do things that the Cavs other veteran G's can't. He can take it strong to the basket unlike Newble, Jones and Snow.
I do like Jackson and don't think he's been given a fair shot but I would continue to give Sasha minutes now.

And please, no more Newble or as little as possible.

Re: Jackson Over Sasha

I have no idea whose better adn I think it's a ludicrous statement to say definitely that Sasha has shown more then Luke.

Both deserve an actual chance: 10-15 minutes a games for a few weeks to really see if they have it. Not 19 minutes one game and 2 the next followed by 5 the next.
