Of that list, I want Keita Bates Diop. I'd take him over Cedi right today. BOOT Windler and bring him in.
Austin Reaves is a SF?
Obvious answer is Jerami Grant but he will be out of the Cavs' price range. Wouldn't be surprised if he lands on a team now in the playoffs if he doesn't stick it out in Portland.
Couple of other guys there that look interesting.
Ingles probably works for a shooting perspective but he'd be strictly a reserve guy as he is in Milwaukee now.

Speaking of supremely athletic idiots, if we are suddenly deciding to not care about character anymore and want to bring in Hayes, Miles Bridges only got a 30 game suspension from the NBA, BUT 20 of those games are being credited to the 22-23 season. It means he will only miss 10 games in the 23-24 season if some team is willing to sign him.

As has been pointed out before, his problems run much deeper than what eventually led up to him severely beating his girlfriend. He was a ticking time bomb that everyone could see was going to explode.

However, the NBA and the public in general, loves redemption stories. I’m sure he will get another chance due to his talent, and he would be such a perfect fit. I just can’t see the Cavs front office changing course on their character assessments for this team.
the guy I want to poach from Charlotte is PJ Washington. Probably impossible but if the opportunity arises...

There isn’t much on this list that is worth going after. Either too expensive or not much better than Cedi. Dillon Brooks could work but his antics and the fact that he and Mitchell don’t like each other would cause drama. Warren & Oubre can score but neither can play defense. Josh hart is having a decent series against us but he’s 6’4 and similar to Okoro. Rather look at free agent centers that could possibly replace Allen and trade Allen for a wing

there aren't many teams suffering for a big that have a wing to spare unless it's someone like Brooks....

The bottom of the barrel is what the Cavs have to work with going forward and the basic criteria is: "be better than Cedi, Wade, and No 9"
Josh Hart as Okoro redundancy would have been nice. But he cost a restricted 1st rounder and a player.
Jerami Grant would solve all the problems, but no way the Cavs could afford him.

My wish is that Okoro eventually becomes backup 2 guard with one of the other guys. With his skills he either plays himself into a tradeable asset, or is good
enough to keep rolling.

Also, while Allen is still here, a stretch 4 that can stagger his minutes with Mobley so that the guards have more room to move around.

I personally would aim for the stars & try to get Clarkson. Having a scorer like him of our bench would be huge. We could offer him 4 years, $60 million & do a S&T with Utah, sending them Osman, Okoro & a protected first.

Thoughts?

Didn’t we trade Clarkson for a 2nd round pick now he’s worth a first plus Okoro and osman? Nah that’s an overpay

Do you think Okoro, Osman & 3-4 second round picks gets it done?

I’m not trading Okoro unless it’s for a solid wing otherwise rather keep Him. This needs a 6 ft 8 strong athletic defender at SF who can shoot 38% from 3 more than it needs another combo scoring guard
LeVert is 6 ft 7 & 39% 3 pt. shooter. I think he's our best bet, there aren't many available wings better than him.

We are going to start hearing about players resigning with their former team because of Bird Rights. After that we will begin hearing about massive overpays. Koby Altman typically sits out the massive overpay free agency period and waits for a trade to get Bird Rights on someone who fell through the cracks.

I don't know who that player will be this year, but that's how I see it going down. For example: Gary Trent Jr. isn't a perfect fit. I do see that he defends hard and plays the floor spacer role. He also found his spot in the rotation dwindling when Jakob Poeltl arrived in a trade. There's a type of player who is a depressed value and may see his own team open to a sign and trade.

Players I'd like to pursue via FA in the MLE or an S&T. Mainly focusing on filling out bench roles:

Trey Lyles: Is a particularly good fit as a bench big that can stretch the floor and play with Mobley or Allen.

Naz Reid: Will probably be the most expensive of the group, but he's pretty skilled offensive and can be a spot starter if needed.

Keita Bates-Diop: Played well this season and would be a nice 3/4 bench guy.

Yuta Wantanabe: Played well early in the year, but his playing time dipped when they traded for Johnson, Bridges, and DFS and due to some injuries. Will be interesting to see how Nets prioritize him.

Dario Saric: Played fairly well coming back from injury and a big that can stretch the floor. Shot 39% from three in 14 MPG. I would imagine he'd be cheap.

Jalen McDaniels: I think he'll seek a situation with more opportunity for playing time. Philly doesn't look to be the place for him.

Lyles and Reid would be my favorites, but I'd take any of these guys as bench/rotation players.
