Do Not Sell My Personal Information
What kind of contract can we afford?
Unless we are trading a major piece, we don’t have a lot. I’m beginning to think our best option is moving Allen. I love Allen, but I’m having my doubts about him and Mobley fitting. But finding a team that needs what Allen brings that has what we would need in return is the trick. It would probably have to be a multi-team deal.

I'm keeping my eye on Grant Williams in Boston, given their reluctance to extend him and now their seemingly reluctance to play him...

Something doesn't pass the sniff test and given the Celtics will be up against the luxury tax before making any moves, I have to believe Williams may be more available than people think..

Only problem is, I'm sure other teams will be interested in Williams for a larger role/contract than they can potentially offer... Koby would have to get creative but Williams is a guy that would help tremendously in a lot of areas..

Williams is an interesting piece. I think he fits a lot of the holes we have but is a bit behind Okoro/Levert as a secondary playmaker. I would be all over him if we can get him on a reasonable deal for sure.

I was thinking the same thing. I think he is restricted. Could we only afford via like a sign and trade with Allen?

Too expensive Imo. They wont take JA either as they have Al + RW3. I think something like Cedi+filler would have to be it

By the looks of it he didn't sign an extension and is wanting out. He was one of the top on my list as well. Though I think JA can get stronger and still has room for improvement, If we were to trade Jarrett Allen for depth I was hoping for an off-season like Mason Plumlee, Grant Williams, and Jerami Grant which I imagine we'd never be able to afford even if dropping JA.

So Jeremi Grant is exactly what we need.
Who's got ideas for a realistic S&T?

Who would be more valuable to the Cavs next season: Caris LeVert or Jeremi Grant?

As currently constructed? I’ll probably get flamed for this, but it’s LeVert and it’s not that close IMO. With Rubio still recovering from injury and being a major unknown at this point, LeVert is the only legitimate ball handler we have outside of Mitchell and Garland. He played really well next to Mitchell or Garland as a spot starter at SG.

Removing LeVert from the bench without a replacing him with an adequate ballhandler(s) and scoring threats would be pretty disastrous for this team.

This is a good point even though I’m inclined to disagree. LeVert’s ball handling is certainly an asset, but Grant is much more aligned to our greatest need as a volume 3 point shooter. Since 2020, this was LeVert’s first season shooting over 35%, Grant was at 40% and hasn’t been under 35 in that same span. And of course he’s on the next tier in terms of volume as well. If we got a do-over against the Knicks I’d much rather have Grant to help open things up for our guards.

I also think we’d have an easier time finding a ball handler on the FA market than a reliable shooting wing. That said, you’d have to factor in the cost of acquiring Grant (probably not possible) and defense (I don’t know Grant but LeVert was an asset for us in that department as well).

Not sure why you'd get flamed for this take. Its as accurate a take as it gets, so I'll stand in the fire with you, I guess.

As purely a starter, Grant probably is a better fit. As a player for the current roster, Levert offers more versatility and fit.
