Sounds like he would be out of any trade IF Bieber becomes available... (I don't 100% trust his skill set anyways).

Lol I was trying to figure what... I don't have time to listen to it
Its not a listen... The link is for reading the transcript of the chat.

Here are the Bieber references:

Where is the best fit for Bieber

I still say Cleveland, but the Guardians really need to make a move in the standings sooner rather than later. A wild card spot is becoming increasingly unfeasible given the strength of the teams in the AL East and West, so if the Central title is their only path to the playoffs, that makes things a lot harder on the Guardians.

The topic of a Bieber trade was broached in more detail in a piece for MLBTR Front Office subscribers this past week, and in general, the emergence of Allen and Bibee make it a little more likely that the Guards might feel comfortable enough to move Bieber. However, they probably want to see McKenzie back and healthy and effective first.

Would the Cardinals trade one or more of their hitters in a Shane Bieber? What framework of deal could work for both teams?

The Guardians would ask for (at least) one MLB-ready player who can help right now, one top prospect who is also in the majors now or is on the verge of debuting, and then a third top prospect who may be a year or two away.

Since Walker and probably Nootbaar aren't going anywhere, it might depend on whether or not the Guardians like any of the Cardinals' outfielders, which is a tough ask since a lot of them are struggling. Winn is also not necessarily a trade chip since Cleveland has a lot of middle infield prospect depth already.

do the Jays have the bullets to land Bieber? i don't see an obvious spot in the field where they need an upgrade, the bullpen could use another arm too, a rotation upgrade might do that anyway

As I laid out earlier, Cleveland probably wants a specific type of package to move Bieber (if they move him at all). St. Louis could feasibly win the bidding since they have a lot of prospect depth....Toronto doesn't.

We don't need Bieber anymore.
Crazy shit.
As the trade deadline approaches.. there is no lack of trade proposals.. some worth reading.. some disrespectful.. some humorous.. some requiring significant thought.. BTV has a "featured" deal that, on the face of it, seems light.. but.. the interesting part of the BTV posting are the comments..

In as much as the day off will offer limited discussion of the next game, here is the link, if you're interested..

btw... MrVics assessment of the 2013 draft/IFA signings/trades/extensions.. are poignant...

I actually proposed a deal for Bieber to the Cubs since some Cubs fans were posting...

It was Bieber to the Cubs for Util Morel, SP Wicks, SP Ferris and C Amaya...BTV liked it and Morel has had a solid season thus far, and has played everywhere but 1B, C and pitcher.... I wish we could get a better bat than Morel in a sense, but it's a nice return on paper...

I don't know if I have any actual expectations for the deadline. I can't see them making the number of transactions that would construct this roster better in one fell swoop.

Bieber's value is fucking tanking worse than I thought it would which pisses me off.

They couldn't give Amed away right now.

We designated Plesac and will get little to nothing in return for him.

Williams and Naylor are tearing up AAA, but it looks like they are conserving service time. That and there's no spot for them with lesser players obstructing their promotions.

Maybe they'll get a good offer for Bieber and another SP. Maybe they'll be willing to dump Rosario and Zunino. Whatever is in the plans I'm anxious to see how it plays out.

Edited to say that if they still get a haul for Bieber and make some good moves then this FO will have totally redeemed itself in my view.

I am all for trading bieber. His value in the off season will even be less
The issue is no longer is a #1 on a staff. He is a #2 or 3 on some teams. Not sure either what we can get for him.
I guess if the haul is low, just keep him for the rest of his deal and get a draft choice
He has been waiting for his big contract and I no longer see him getting it with anyone. He should have did a team friendly deal like Jose did last year

Bieber is being paid about $ 10 MM in 2023.. and will be looking at around $ 18 MM in 2024.. That would be within a couple MM/yr to what Jose is getting.. Effectively, by not extending him, Bieber agreed to a home town discount just like Jose did..

The rest of your comment is spot on..

Thank you. Still do not see us extending him. Like Lindor, we got the best years of his career
Jose also stated he wanted to stay in Cleve. I don’t Bieber has ever said that
I gave nothing against Bieber. He just needs to be moved
