Your logic and numbers are solid, but a rookie contract is escalating, i looked up all the things you did, and 650 doesnt make sense, should be like 900k or something....but that doesnt match the total reported.

Edit, i found it...920k.

Yeah it's weird. Spotrac and OTC both have the original amount at $2,779,044 which I guess isn't correct.

Where do you see this?

Their best corners, Ward, Greedy and Hill, are all corners who are not just good at it, but are particularly skilled at playing press man. Particularly Denzel Ward.

Mo Hurst got released...? The fuck is LV doing dude

Can't see Andrew Berry drafting an off-ball LB at 26, let alone sacrificing additional assets to do so.
I agree. I would much rather trade back for future assets then draft a LB in the 1st round. I just don't think with our scheme that a LB is a high priority or a position we would want to use a first round pick on. If we keep it, I would target a WR, CB, or DT/DE. With the ability to have a 5th year option on 1st round picks, I think you use that on a value position.

Didnt Hurst have an irregular heartbeat issue around the time of his draft?
Is it possible that his release is medical related and not just LV being dumb?

Umm..... There must be some other ore draft moves coming.pm as there was no financial need to clear another 12M in cap space.

Trade for Gilmore or Lattimore? JC Jackson?

Geno Atkins on a cheap one year deal.

Barmore targeted in draft and a trade for a skilled DT lined up?

I'm not super optimistic about the move, but it sure makes the Jackson signing make more sense.

Disappointed but I’m not surprised. Jackson is a similar player who’s much much cheaper. Obviously Richardson is better but not 10M more better. Jackson Billings Elliot and a rookie should be enough. I expect clowney to play inside a lot with Garrett getting a few snaps there too.

But we still play a zone based scheme with Woods.

I'm expecting another move coming up soon. Don't see a reason for this unless he was unwilling to restructure.

Guess we’ll have to see if this is a move to strategically roll over and expand their 2022 cap number or if they plan on using the abundance of space still available to add talent/ money at CB or DT(different play style) via trade

I am guessing Hurst/Atkins are an option or a DT in round 1/2.....

My guilty desire is to trade for Danielle Hunter. I know it doesn't make much sense given that he wants a monster contract extension but HOPE doesn't have to make sense.

They will play some. But at the moment, the Browns should be playing a lot more press man unless something drastic changes at corner.

Let me emphasis this, Denzel Ward is a premier press man corner and is just kind of average as a zone corner. Playing heavy zone would be a total waste of what Ward does best.
